It's an early start: We leave Airlie Beach at 4:30 a.m. to catch the Kangaroos on the beach at sunrise at the spectacular Cape Hillsborough National Park.
1.5 hours south of Airlie Beach, the beach at Cape Hillsborough has become world famous for its sunrise with the kangaroos and wallabies experience. Every morning, the kangaroos and wallabies head down to the beach at sunrise to feed on seaweed and mangrove seed pods, and they don’t mind posing for a few photos! The sunrises are spectacular here; you’ll quickly see why it’s become such a popular spot.
